saying yes

Meditation has long been used by many to find balance within the chaos. Finding a safe and nurturing place to sit quietly, we can listen and respond to the call of Being. Our true nature flowers as we open to Silence, the Stillness that we are.

Each month we open our home to individuals who wish to take time away from life to enter into silent community.
This is a gift we give ourselves and sharing it is love. Like Martha Postlewaite suggests, we are "not trying to save the world or do anything grandiose. Instead, create a clearing in the dense forest of your life."

Our retreats are silent 2 to 5-day residential offerings. Our intention is to hold the energy of sacred retreat, allowing each person to have their individual experience of meditation, doing whatever style is useful for them.

We keep the meals simple so that we can participate in the retreat fully ourselves. Accommodations include a room with bed or beds and a washroom next door.

The
retreat schedule has 30 or 45-minute sits interspersed with time for personal study or walking. Each person creates the retreat for themselves, while being held with the intention of conscious care and love.

Each morning and evening we listen to  recorded retreat talks by our guide purna. Please see purna's page for more info and a link to her website.

something different

Sitting in silence is a privilege. Opening it to others is a great pleasure.

Simple Sit Retreats provide a framework for sitters to have deep and personal time for solo introspection. It is scheduled similarly to traditional meditation retreats, and each participant can create their own retreat within the structure.

Please note that because this is a solo experience with others, we ask that our guests have had retreating experience and come with a silent meditation practice. If guidance or support of any kind is needed during the retreat, a system is in place for that to be available.
